Communications

The Communications tab is where you reach your program's people — broadcast Announcements and Slack-style Channels — both scoped to the program you're chairing, across two sub-tabs.

Purpose

The Communications tab in the Program Chair Console is your hub for reaching the people in your program. It groups two tools, each on its own sub-tab:

  • Announcements — broadcast messages to a chosen audience. Recipients see them in their Webmail Inbox and the Announcement Portal, and you can optionally publish them to the public conference website.
  • Channels — create persistent, topic-broadcast discussion channels scoped to your program, for reviewer coordination, AC discussions, or track-specific announcements.

Everything you post here is scoped to the program you selected when entering the console. The tab opens on Announcements by default; switch between the two with the sub-tab bar across the top.

The Communications tab is available in every review mode (Direct, Two-Stage ARR, Instant AI Review) and at every phase.

When you use it

Open Communications whenever you need to tell your program's participants something, or set up a space for them to coordinate: posting a reviewing deadline change, notifying authors, or opening a channel for your committee. Pick the sub-tab that matches the job:

  • One-to-many broadcast that lands in inboxes → Announcements
  • An ongoing discussion space for your committee or track → Channels

Walkthrough

  1. 1

Open the Program Chair Console and select the program you want to manage (if you chair more than one).

  2. 2

Click the Communications tab, then use the sub-tab bar to choose Announcements or Channels. The tab opens on Announcements.

  3. 3

On Announcements, compose and broadcast a message to your program's audience, schedule it for later, pin it, or optionally publish it to the website. See the Announcements help page for the full composer walkthrough.

  4. 4

On Channels, create a topic-broadcast channel scoped to your program, or browse and archive existing ones. See the Channels help page for details.

Tips

Pick the right tool for the message

Announcements are one-way broadcasts that land in people's inboxes — best for deadlines, decisions, and logistics. Channels are persistent spaces — best for ongoing reviewer or committee coordination.

Everything here is program-scoped

In the Program Chair Console, both sub-tabs are locked to the program you selected. Announcements you post and channels you create here reach your program — not the whole conference. Conference-wide communications live in the Conference Leadership Console.
