Multi-Program Chair Console
A map of the Multi-Program Chair Console, showing how its five tabs let you manage a container program, its sub-programs, their submissions, and proposal decisions.
The Multi-Program Chair Console is your workspace for running a container program, a category such as Workshops, Tutorials, or Sessions that groups several sub-programs beneath it. It opens at /console/program-head.
The sidebar link Multi-Program Chair Consoles opens a picker of every container you chair, even if there is only one. Switch between cards and a compact list with the buttons at the top right (the same toggle as All Conferences); the choice is remembered in this browser. A card header shows the conference's card image when it has one; otherwise it is a patterned gradient whose color comes from the card's place in the picker, as in every console picker. Each entry shows the container name, your role, and counts for sub-programs and submissions. Pick one to open its workspace; the back arrow in the header returns to the picker.
Above the picker, search by name, acronym or conference, and sort by date, name or acronym, ascending or descending (the sort is remembered). The filters are Upcoming, Live and Past. They compare the event's dates with today in the conference's timezone, so each item is in exactly one of them and the last day counts as Live until it ends there. A program with its own dates uses them.
It is the console for every container chair role: Multi-Program Chair and Co-Chair (the roles Edit Program assigns on a container), and the older Workshop / Tutorial General Chair and Co-Chair roles. They all open their containers here, from Multi-Program Chair Consoles in the sidebar, not in a separate console. In the sidebar it sits after Conference Leadership Console and Single Program Chair Consoles, and before the sub-program links such as Frontier Session Chair Consoles.
Purpose
Give a container chair one place to see the health of their category, manage the sub-programs inside it, browse every submission across those sub-programs, and accept or reject the proposals that ask to create new sub-programs.
When you use it
- When you oversee a category of related programs rather than a single track.
- To review and decide on proposals submitted to your container.
- To create, structure, and run the sub-programs under your container.
- To monitor submission activity across all of your sub-programs at once.
The tabs

Dashboard: an at-a-glance overview of the number of active sub-programs, total submissions, pending reviews, and accepted counts, plus a sub-programs overview, recent submissions, and quick links into the wider conference tools.

Settings: the container's own settings in three sub tabs. Program Info holds its information and how proposals are submitted. Important Dates holds the dates and time zone every sub-program starts from; saving copies them to the sub-programs that follow them, and each sub-program may change any date. Review Config holds the full review configuration (review mode, committee structure, blind review, forms, decisions, desk rejection); its values are the sub-programs' defaults, and each sub-program may change any of them.

Programs: manage the sub-programs inside your container: create them, edit, run or pause, reorder, and open read-only oversight views.

Submissions: a searchable, filterable table of every submission across the container and all its sub-programs, with status counts and per-row view.

Decisions: review the proposals submitted to your container and accept, request revision, or reject them. Accepting creates the sub-program.
Tips
The Decisions tab is what populates the Programs tab. When you accept a proposal, AirBalloon automatically creates the sub-program under your container and makes the proposer its chair, so most sub-programs start life as an accepted proposal.
Your role is Multi-Program Chair (or Co-Chair). It is shown with your container's acronym, or its name when it has no acronym: Workshops Chair, FS Chair. Give the container an acronym in Edit Program to set it for new assignments.
