Creating an account

How to sign up, verify your email, and complete your profile so you can submit papers, review, or organize a conference.

Last updated: 2026-09-04

You can create an account in a couple of minutes. The same account works across every conference on AirBalloon — you don't need a separate login per event.

Already invited?

If a Program Chair or Conference Leader invited you to a conference, follow the link in your invitation email — it will create the account for you and add you to the conference automatically. The invitation includes a temporary password; you will be asked to choose your own the first time you sign in. If it has expired or you no longer have the email, use Forgot password — it works even though you have never signed in.

  1. 1

Go to the AirBalloon home page and click Sign Up.

  2. 2

Enter your name, email address, and a password. Use the email address your colleagues and conferences are most likely to know you by.

  3. 3

Open the verification email and click the confirmation link. If you don't see it within a minute or two, check your spam folder.

  4. 4

Sign in. You will be taken to My Dashboard, your personal landing page across all conferences.

Complete your profile

A complete profile makes a big difference for reviewer matching, author identification, and conference networking. Add:

  • Affiliation and title — the institution you want listed on submissions.
  • ORCID — strongly recommended; many conferences require it for authors.
  • Areas of expertise — used by Program Chairs when assigning reviews.
  • Profile photo and short bio — visible on your public profile.

You can update these any time from the Profile page.

Sign-in options

  • Email and password — the default.
  • Federated sign-in (where enabled) — your institutional SSO or a supported identity provider.

Trouble signing in?

  • Forgot your password? Use the Forgot password link on the sign-in page. We email you a six-digit code; enter it along with your new password and you are signed straight in. This works even if you have never signed in before — for example if you were invited to a conference and the account was created for you.
  • Didn't receive the verification email? From the sign-in page, request a new one. If your address has a typo, sign up again with the correct one — accounts that never verify are cleaned up automatically.
  • Locked out? Contact your conference's organizers, or AirBalloon support if it's a platform-level issue.
