Committee
The Committee tab of the Conference Leadership Console — see who chairs and organizes your conference, look up a person's roles, email members, and add or remove people.
Purpose
The Committee tab is the roster of everyone with a leadership or organizing role on your conference. It pulls together both conference-level roles (General Chair, System Admin, and the like) and program-level chairs (Program Chairs, Area Chairs, Track Chairs) into one list, shows their status, and lets you email them or remove them. It also includes a User Role Lookup tool for checking exactly what roles any one person holds on this conference.
When you use it
Open the Committee tab when you want to see at a glance who is on your organizing team, confirm whether an invited chair has accepted yet, email one person or a group of members, audit a specific person's roles before changing them, or add and remove committee members.
Walkthrough
- 1
Open the Conference Leadership Console, select your conference, and click the Committee tab.
- 2
Read the three summary cards at the top: Leadership (conference-level leaders), Committee (program chairs and other organizers), and Pending (members who were invited but haven't accepted yet).
- 3
Use the All / Leadership / Committee filter buttons to narrow the table. "Leadership" shows conference-level roles; "Committee" shows the lower-level program and organizing roles. Each button shows its count.
- 4
Scan the members table. Each row shows the person's name and email, their role, the program the role belongs to (conference-level roles read "Conference"), and a status badge — Active, Invited/Pending, or Declined.
- 5
To look up one person, expand User Role Lookup, type their email, and click Lookup. You'll see every conference-level and program-level role they hold on this conference, each with its level and status.
- 6
To email a single member, click the mail icon in their Actions column. The compose window opens with that person pre-filled as the recipient.
- 7
To email several members at once, tick the checkboxes next to the rows you want (or the header checkbox to select all in the current filter), then click Group Email. The selected members are added as BCC recipients.
- 8
To add people, click Manage Committee. This opens the organizing-committee setup, where you define positions, then assign a person (they become active immediately) or invite them (they get an email and show as Pending until they accept).
- 9
To remove someone, click the delete (trash) icon in their row, review the name, role, and email in the confirmation dialog, and click Remove Member.
Tips
The table itself is for viewing, emailing, and removing. To grant a new role — whether a built-in position like Program Chair or a custom one — use Manage Committee, where you can also choose between assigning (immediate) and inviting (email + Pending status).
A member with an Invited or Pending status has been sent an invitation but hasn't signed in and accepted yet. The Pending card at the top is a quick count of how many people you're still waiting on.
This roster shows Program Chair level and above. Program-level reviewers and PC members aren't listed here — those are managed by each Program Chair in their own console.
Removing someone deletes their role assignment for this conference; it doesn't delete their account. Be careful removing program-level chairs, since they may have work in progress in that program.
The total shown as "N members in total" and the Leadership/Committee split are based on the de-duplicated, level-filtered roster (Program Chair and above). Confirm whether the intended count should match this filtered view or the raw number of role records before relying on it for reporting.
