Keynotes
A focused view of your conference's invited keynote speakers — invite them, collect bio, abstract, photo, and media, and approve their content for scheduling.
Purpose
The Keynotes sub-tab is a keynote-only view of your highest-visibility invited content — it shows only your plenary keynote speakers, with emphasis on the public-program fields (photo, bio, website, ORCID). Use it to invite keynotes, send their invitations, and review the bio, abstract, photo, and media they submit, without the other invited types in the way.
Keynotes you manage here also appear on the Invited Submissions sub-tab, which lists every invited type (keynotes, panels, invited talks, tutorials, …); this sub-tab is the focused workspace for the plenary keynotes alone.
When you use it
Use this sub-tab when curating the plenary program: inviting keynote speakers, gathering the profile fields you'll show publicly (bio, photo, website), and approving their materials so the planner can place them.
Walkthrough
- 1
Open the Conference Leadership Console, select your conference, open the Presentation System tab, and click the Keynotes sub-tab. The list is already filtered to keynote speakers.
- 2
Click Invite speaker to add a keynote — the type is fixed to Keynote, and there's no program to pick (keynotes are attached to a conference-level Keynotes program automatically). Enter the speaker's first and last name (and an optional title like "Dr."), email, and affiliation. The talk title is the speaker's to choose — you don't set it here; if you'd like to suggest a topic or direction, add it in the personal message. Then Send invitation (or Save draft to send later). To invite a non-keynote speaker, use the Invited Submissions sub-tab instead.
- 3
Track each keynote's status (Sent / Accepted / Submitted / Ready) and open a speaker to review their bio, abstract, photo, and media in the details drawer.
- 4
When a keynote's content is Submitted, use Approve → Ready to mark it ready for scheduling, or Request changes to send it back for revision.
Tips
Reserve keynote-tier rooms and keynote-kind time slots on the Venue & Rooms and Time Slots sub-tabs so the Session Plan planner has somewhere to place keynotes once they're accepted.
Keynotes is a filtered view, not a separate store. A keynote you invite here shows up on Invited Submissions too, and vice-versa. Use the Materials row in the details drawer to open the speaker's photo, slides, or video.
For hosts of virtual keynotes/plenaries, use the Webinar license type in Settings → Licensed Chairs.
