AC Status
The AC Status sub-tab tracks your Area Chairs — paper load, meta-review progress, bidding, and workload — and gives you a Reports view to act on conflict reports, reassignment requests, and escalations they raise.
Purpose
The AC Status sub-tab (under Review Status) tracks how your Area Chairs (ACs) are handling their assigned papers. It presents five sections:
- Paper Assignments — how many papers and reviewers each AC oversees, with average affinity.
- Meta-Review Progress — completed vs. pending meta-reviews per AC, plus overdue counts and overall progress.
- Bidding Progress — each AC's bids against the required minimum, broken down by strength (Very High through Very Low), if AC bidding is enabled.
- AC Workload — a distribution view highlighting over-loaded and under-loaded ACs.
- Reports — conflict reports, reassignment requests, and escalations raised by ACs, which you can read and resolve.
This is the Area Chair view of the Full tier, Direct review mode pipeline. The monitoring sections are read-only; the Reports section is where you take action.
When you use it
Open AC Status throughout the review period to watch meta-review completion and balance AC load — and any time the red dot appears on the sub-tab, which signals unread reports. The Reports tab also shows an unread count badge.
Walkthrough
- 1
Open the Program Chair Console, select your program, click Review Status, then the AC Status sub-tab.
- 2
Use the section bar to pick Paper Assignments, Meta-Review Progress, Bidding Progress, AC Workload, or Reports. Search with the Search Area Chairs... box and sort by clicking column headers.
- 3
On Meta-Review Progress, watch the Overdue and Overall Progress figures as the deadline approaches. On AC Workload, use the over-loaded / under-loaded outliers to rebalance.
- 4
Open Reports to handle issues ACs raise. Filter by type (Conflicts, Reassignments, Escalations) and status (Unread, Read, Resolved). On each report card, use Mark Read, Resolve, and View Paper as needed.
Tips
A red dot on the AC Status sub-tab and an unread count on the Reports section mean an AC needs you. Unread reports carry a red left border; Mark Read to acknowledge and Resolve once you've handled the underlying issue.
The Reports view subscribes to conflict reports, reassignment requests, and escalations as they're created, so new items and the red-dot indicator appear without a refresh.
