SAC Status
The SAC Status sub-tab tracks your Senior Area Chairs — which ACs report to them, their oversight workload, and bidding — and gives you an Escalations view to resolve issues SACs raise to you. It appears only when your program uses Senior Area Chairs.
Purpose
The SAC Status sub-tab (under Review Status) tracks your Senior Area Chairs (SACs) and the oversight layer they provide. It presents four sections:
- AC Assignments — which Area Chairs report to each SAC.
- SAC Workload — papers, reviews, and meta-reviews under each SAC's purview, with a progress bar.
- SAC Bidding — each SAC's bids against the required minimum, by strength, if SAC bidding is enabled.
- Escalations — issues raised by ACs/SACs to you (the Program Chair) that need attention, which you can resolve.
This is the Senior Area Chair view of the Full tier, Direct review mode pipeline. The first three sections are read-only; the Escalations section is where you take action.
SAC Status appears only when your program has Senior Area Chairs enabled. If your program runs with just reviewers and Area Chairs, this sub-tab is hidden — you'll see only Reviewer Status and AC Status. Add Senior Area Chairs in the Committee tab to use it.
When you use it
Open SAC Status to confirm Area Chairs are distributed sensibly across your Senior Area Chairs, to watch SAC-level review and meta-review progress, and any time the red dot appears on the sub-tab — which signals unread escalations needing your decision.

Open the Program Chair Console, select your program, click Review Status, then the SAC Status sub-tab (shown only when Senior Area Chairs are enabled).

Use the section bar to pick AC Assignments, SAC Workload, SAC Bidding, or Escalations. Search with the Search Senior Area Chairs... box and sort by clicking column headers.

On SAC Workload, read the progress bar and the Reviews / Meta-Reviews done-vs-total figures to see which SACs' areas are lagging.

Open Escalations to handle issues SACs raise. Search escalations, read the parsed paper, AC, SAC, priority, and issue details on each card, and click Resolve on any unread escalation once you've acted.
Tips
A red dot on the SAC Status sub-tab and a "new" badge on the Escalations section mean a SAC has flagged something for your decision. Resolving an escalation clears the indicator for you and across the console.
The Escalations view subscribes to PC escalations as they're created, so new items and the red-dot indicator appear without a refresh.
