Review

The Review tab of the Program Chair Console holds the whole review workflow in three sections (Reviewer Assignment, Area Chair Assignment & Reports, Reviews & Decisions), from assigning reviewers to releasing decisions.

Last updated: 2026-10-20

Purpose

The Review tab gathers everything that happens between the submission deadline and the decision release. Each step of the review workflow is a section, in the order you use them:

  • Reviewer Assignment: match reviewers to submissions with affinities and conflicts, then run and approve the assignment.
  • Area Chair Assignment & Reports: group Area Chairs under Senior Area Chairs, give each paper an Area Chair, and read the reports and escalations they send you.
  • Reviews & Decisions: one table per paper with review progress, reviewers, scores, the AI report and the decision; record outcomes, release them to authors and track revisions.

When you use it

  • After the submission deadline, to set up the review hierarchy and assign reviewers.
  • During the review period, to watch progress and act on reports.
  • At the end of review, to read the reviews and decide every paper.

Walkthrough

  1. 1

Open the Program Chair Console, select your program, and click the Review tab.

  2. 2

Pick a section from the bar at the top. The first time, the tab opens on the first section your conference's tier allows.

  3. 3

The section you pick stays in the page address, so a reload or a shared link opens the same place. Each section has its own sub-tabs inside.

Tips

Which sections you see

All three appear on Full tier programs running Direct review. On Standard and Light conferences, and on Two-Stage Rolling Review programs, the Review tab holds only Reviews & Decisions, without the review columns. Programs using Instant AI Review have no Review tab; their decisions live in the Decision phase tabs.

Red dots

A red dot on the Review tab means Area Chairs or Senior Area Chairs sent reports or escalations you have not read. Find them in Area Chair Assignment & Reports, under Area Chairs Reports.

Locked sections

A section your conference's tier does not include shows a lock and cannot be opened, and the banner at the top of the console names what is blocked. The Review tab itself is locked only when every section is.

Bidding is not available for now

Reviewer bidding is turned off in the PC Console for now: the bidding setting, the bidding rule and dates, and the bidding views are hidden, and reviewers are matched by expertise and conflicts only.

Older links still work

Links and emails that point at the former SAC-AC, Reviewer Assignment, Reviews or Decisions tabs open the matching section. The former Review Status section is no longer shown; its links open the first section available.
