Actions

Follow-up operations for your area — report a conflict, request a reassignment, escalate to your Senior Area Chair, or send reminders to late reviewers.

Last updated: 2026-06-28

Purpose

The Actions tab gathers the follow-up operations you reach for once papers and reviewers are in motion. It has four sub-tabs:

  • Report Conflict — declare a conflict of interest between one of your papers and a reviewer.
  • Request Reassignment — ask to have a paper moved to another Area Chair.
  • Escalate to SAC — raise an issue to your Senior Area Chair.
  • Send Reminder — email reviewers who still owe reviews on your papers.

When you use it

  • When you spot a reviewer who should not be on one of your papers.
  • When a paper falls outside your expertise or your workload, and another AC should take it.
  • When you hit a problem you need your Senior Area Chair to weigh in on.
  • When reviews are running late and reviewers need a nudge.

Walkthrough

  1. 1

Report Conflict — pick one of your papers, then pick one of its assigned reviewers, describe the conflict (co-author, same institution, personal relationship, etc.), and submit. The PC Chair is notified to review and act.

  2. 2

Request Reassignment — pick the paper you want moved and explain why (conflict discovered, outside your area, workload). The PC Chair reviews your request.

  3. 3

Escalate to SAC — pick the paper, set a priority (Low / Normal / Urgent), describe the issue, and submit. Your Senior Area Chair is notified and you can track the escalation.

  4. 4

Send Reminder — review the list of papers with pending reviewers (grouped by paper, expandable). Select individual reviewers, all reviewers for a paper, or everyone; optionally add a custom message; then send. Each recipient gets an email and an in-app notification. You can also send to a single reviewer with the mail icon next to their name.

Tips

Refresh the reminder list after sending

The Send Reminder list only includes reviewers whose reviews are still outstanding. After a round of reminders, use the refresh icon — reviewers who have since submitted drop off, so you never chase someone twice.

Conflicts and reassignments go to the PC Chair, escalations to your SAC

Report Conflict and Request Reassignment notify the PC Chair, who decides whether to remove a reviewer or move the paper. Escalate to SAC routes to your Senior Area Chair. Pick the action that matches who you need to act.
