Important Dates
Set the dates and time zone your sub-programs start from, in the Important Dates tab of the Multi-Program Chair Console; sub-programs inherit them and may change any date.
Purpose
Settings → Important Dates sets the schedule of your container program (for example, "Workshops") and the time zone of its dates. Every sub-program takes these dates: a new workshop starts with them, and when you change them the change reaches each sub-program that still follows them. A sub-program's chairs can change any date for their own program.
When you use it
- Before proposals are accepted, so new sub-programs start with the right submission, review and camera-ready dates.
- When a date moves for every workshop at once.
Walkthrough
- 1
Open the Multi-Program Chair Console, select your container, and open Settings → Important Dates.
- 2
The editor is the same as Important Dates in the Program Chair Console. Pick the Time zone of these dates (AoE by default), then use Calculate…, Add date and the date pickers. The conference's own dates are shown read only.
- 3
The Paper tab holds the dates sub-programs take. When your container takes proposals, put the proposal deadlines in the Proposal tab, so they are not copied to the workshops.
- 4
Click Save. The message says how many sub-programs the dates were copied to.
Tips
In a sub-program's Program Chair Console → Settings → Important Dates, dates that follow the Multi-Program show From Multi-Program. A date its chairs change shows Changed here and stays theirs when you change yours; Use Multi-Program date puts it back. A sub-program that set its own dates before this tab existed keeps them until its chairs click Take dates from the Multi-Program: every date you have replaces theirs, a date only they have (such as their program period) stays theirs, and a message says how many dates changed. Their chairs click Save to keep them.
