Purpose

Area Chairs Reports is the third sub-tab of Area Chair Assignment & Reports, after Paper-AC Assignment. It is where the issues your Area Chairs and Senior Area Chairs raise to you arrive:

  • Reports from Area Chairs: conflict reports, reassignment requests and escalations. You can mark each one read and resolve it.
  • Escalations from Senior Area Chairs: issues SACs raise to you, with the paper, AC, SAC, priority and issue on each card. This part appears only when your program has Senior Area Chairs.

When you use it

Throughout the review period, whenever a red dot appears. A red dot on the Review tab, on Area Chair Assignment & Reports and on Area Chairs Reports means there are unread reports or escalations waiting for you.

Walkthrough

  1. 1

Open the Program Chair Console, select your program, click the Review tab, then Area Chair Assignment & Reports, then the Area Chairs Reports sub-tab.

  2. 2

Read the counts at the top (Unread, Conflicts, Reassignments). Filter the reports by type (Conflicts, Reassignments, Escalations) and by status (Unread, Read, Resolved).

  3. 3

On each report card, use Mark Read to acknowledge it, View Paper to open the paper, and Resolve once you have handled the issue. Unread reports carry a red left border.

  4. 4

If your program has Senior Area Chairs, scroll to Escalations from Senior Area Chairs. Search the escalations, read each card, and click Resolve once you have acted.

Tips

Treat the red dots as your to do list

Resolving a report or an escalation clears it for you and across the console. The red dot goes away once nothing is left unread.

Reports arrive in real time

New conflict reports, reassignment requests and escalations, and the red dot, appear without a refresh.
