Award Candidates
Review the papers your Area Chairs nominated for Best Paper and record your own support recommendation for the Program Chairs from the Award Candidates tab.
Purpose
The Award Candidates tab gathers the papers nominated for the Best Paper Award by the Area Chairs you supervise, and lets you record your own assessment of each one. Your recommendation — from Strong Support through Do Not Support — is weighed alongside other SACs' input when the Program Chairs make the final award decisions.
When you use it
- To review the papers your Area Chairs have put forward for Best Paper.
- To read each nomination's reasoning, average score, and meta-review recommendation in one place.
- To register your own support level and comments on each candidate.
Walkthrough
- 1
Open the Senior Area Chair Console, select your program, and open the Award Candidates tab.
- 2
Read the stats: total Nominations, how many you've Assessed, and how many are still Pending. Candidates are sorted by average score, highest first.
- 3
Each card shows the paper, who nominated it, the average score and review count, the meta-review recommendation, and the nomination reason. Click Expand to see the abstract and your assessment form.
- 4
Pick a Recommendation (Strong Support, Support, Neutral, Weak Support, or Do Not Support) and add Comments.
- 5
Use Save Draft to keep working, or Submit Assessment to record your final recommendation (a recommendation must be selected to submit).
Tips
Save a draft as you go and return later — your recommendation is only counted as final once you Submit. A submitted candidate is marked Assessed in its card header.
In the current build, saving or submitting an assessment updates the view in your current session but is not yet written back to the database, so it may not persist on reload. Confirm persistence behavior with your deployment before relying on it.
